Patron requests are to be done by the reference staff. Patrons who don't want to go upstairs have other options.
When we request dvd's and there are parts involved, if we do it wrong, the patron's request never gets filled. The result is an unhappy patron. This has happened a few times lately and the patrons have told the reference staff that the request was handled by the circ staff.
So please ........do not place holds at the circ desk. Thank you.
If you need a refresher on parts please, please, please come ask me and I will gladly give you a quick training. I've noticed staff members doing parts holds for themselves incorrectly so don't be shy about asking...it is confusing! I handle parts and re-ordering incorrect holds on a weekly basis so please come visit for a walk through if you need it. Thanks!!
